Bra sizing

Sizing up

Trawl the web and you will stumble across scores of bra fitting advise and whilst nothing beats going into a lingerie store and getting fitted in person, here are some steps for a DYI sizing:

1. Using a measuring tape and measure round right under your bust

2. The tape should not be too tight or too loose, but snug enough as a good fitting bra would be

3. Note down your measurement in inches. This will give you your band size. If you are an odd measurement (e.g. 33) try the next band measurement, i.e. 34.

4. Now wear an unpadded good fitting bra and measure over your bust, again not too tight and not too loose.

5. The difference between the two measurements will give you your cup size, as follows:

0-0.5 inches = AA cup      3 inches = C cup
0.5-1 inch = A cup             4 inches = D cup
1-2 inches = B cup
